Women are basically more fashion conscious as compared to men. They are naturally protective about their looks and tend to take far better care of themselves as compared to men. When you think of hair loss, the first thing that will strike your mind are bald men�s. There is no doubt that even women have hair loss; however, it is not as severe as in men. Causes of hair loss in women

1. Age is an important factor that results in thinning of hair in women. As she ages, her hair starts to lose the luster and shine, thereby making it weak.

2. Another common criterion for hair loss in women are seen when she stops taking birth control pills. Women often tend to stop the intake of birth control pills after giving birth and after entering the menopause stage; as a result they have a sudden loss of estrogen that leads to hair loss.

3. Hair loss in women is also seen especially during a physical illness. It could be a severe fever infection, skin diseases, toxins, or lack of nutrients. However, the hair grows again as soon as the body starts recovering from the illness.

4. Another common reason that results in hair loss in women is use of bleaches, relaxes to color hair for fashion and style. It is often seen that hair becomes �soapy� in texture and easily breaks off after use of such chemical stuffs.

5. Telogen effluvium is another cause of hair loss in women and this is unsurprisingly given to the nature of condition.

Treatments for thinning of hair in women

Hair loss does not mean that you have to say goodbye to hairsprays, hair dyes, or hair perms. There is no way that these stuffs will worsen your problem. If you intend to reduce your hair loss then you need to read the following guidelines.

1. Hair loss is often caused due to lack of Iron efficiency in your body. You need to have lots of iron, which includes lean red meat, offal, egg yolks, leafy vegetables, and pulses.

2. Rogaine is also said to reduce hair loss in women by quite a margin. It is a lotion that needs to be applied to the scalp.

3. If you still feel that, your hair needs sever care from hair loss then its better you switch to hair transplantation. Hair Transplantation is a useful treatment for preventing hair loss for both men and women.
